The incident took place on the A595 near Oily’s at Winscales on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at around 1pm. A horse and rider fell to the ground as the HGV drove by. Both sustained minor injuries. The HGV is described as a right-handed cab wagon, white cream colour, with red writing on the back. The driver is described as a small, slim-built male, bald with grey hair around the sides.
