A five-alarm fire at a Bronx apartment building Wednesday afternoon left one person dead and 14 others injured, according to the FDNY. Firefighters responded to reports of an explosion just before 12:30 p.m. at 374 East 209th St. in Norwood. Two civilians suffered life-threatening injuries, two others suffered serious injuries and four had minor injuries. Six firefighters were also injured — three seriously and three with minor injuries. The fire spread to three floors before firefighters were withdrawn after part of the third floor collapsed, Esposito said.
