Two Far Rockaway men received long prison terms on Monday, nearly four years after they shot and killed a Long Island man in a crowded walkway at the Redfern Houses NYCHA complex in August 2022. According to the charges and trial testimony, at 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 15, 2022, Johnson and Williams arrived at the circular walkway near 12-30 Redfern Avenue in Far Rockaway. They started shooting at a group of people that included Bivins, another man and three young women. Johnson and Williams fired a combined total of 21 shots at Bivins and his friends as they were running away. Johnson and Williams were also found guilty of attempted murder in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
