The new release is a story about fashion, friendship, the beauty of second-hand and the power of second chances. Set in Sydney’s harbourside suburb of Mosman, the book revolves around a secondhand dress shop — the clothes there, and the women that wear them. At the heart of the story is Daphne, who works at the Frock Shop and understands that clothes can serve as a form of armour. Ms Green said she hoped to capture realistic female characters in The Frock Shop while spotlighting the power of fashion. The Frock Shop is Ms Green’s eighth novel, with her previous bestselling books including The Bellbird River Country Choir and Weekends with the Sunshine Gardening Society.
