Propsco has applied for permission in principle for the properties on a 0.56-hectare parcel of land at the junction of the A530 Whitchurch Road and Wrenbury Road at Aston near Nantwich.
Access to the site is proposed off Wrenbury Road where a new footway would also be constructed along the site’s frontage linking to the one which already exists.
The application is for ‘permission in principle’ (PIP) – a two-stage mechanism for obtaining planning approval for housing development.
A planning statement submitted by Richard Lee Project Planning on behalf of the applicant, states: “The application site is located within the open countryside, but it is not allocated for a specific use or development on the local plan proposals map.”
It points out that, following the government’s revision of the housing target numbers, Cheshire East is currently unable to demonstrate a five-year housing land supply.
