A six-week consultation, from Wednesday, August 5, to Wednesday, September 16, will consider expanding Moving Traffic Enforcement measures, that are currently in place, through adding ANPR.
In Chester, the proposed locations with existing restrictions include Cuppin Street/Grosvenor Street – no right turn, St Martin’s Way/Hunter Street – no U-turn, Grosvenor Road/Castle Drive – no right turn out and no right turn in.
Also included are yellow box junctions on the A55 slip road/Vicars Cross, Nicholas Street/Weaver Street, St Martin’s Way/Princess Street, and St Martin’s Way/Hunter Street/Sens Close.
Councillor Bingham added: “The consultation will gather feedback on the proposed use of camera enforcement at each location, before any implementation decisions are made.
If the proposals are taken forward, the council plans to introduce camera enforcement at four locations this year and a further four locations in 2027, in order to work within available resources.
