Thomas Bangalter has weighed in on the role of AI in music. In a recent live interview with Yana Peel, President of Arts, Culture & Heritage at CHANEL during Art Basel, the former Daft Punk member, DJ and composer said he is “not really interested in the creative usage of artificial intelligence”. Bangalter explained that the way AI operates through prompts contrasts with the deeply personal nature of his own creative process. “That’s probably why I’m not really interested in the creative usage of artificial intelligence for many reasons.” Earlier this summer, Thomas Bangalter appeared to rule out any hope for a Daft Punk reunion, telling fans: “There are other things to explore.”
