Thameslink said the updated charge was designed to "reflect current demand" and how the car park is used. The train operator suggested the car park is "still cheaper than nearby alternatives". Others claim the Victoria Street car park is now commuters cheapest option for parking near the station - the daily rate is £10.55 (including a 15p convenience fee) at Victoria Street.
