The Democrat nominee is running on a simple slogan: “Money out of politics, money in your pocket, Medicare for All.” People do not like to be treated as idiots, and the Haley Stevens campaign essentially tried to manipulate voters through misleading advertising. From one perspective, El-Sayed’s victory is not surprising. But El-Sayed's victory also was surprising, because it should have been impossible for him to defeat the amount of money that was spent to stop him, and the unified opposition of the entire party establishment. I also suspect that this election will diminish AIPAC's influence within the Democratic party.
