ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Water Resources held a session on Wednesday to discuss the proposed Wapda Security Force bill, with Lt Gen. (Retd) Muhammad Saeed, Chairman of Wapda, providing a briefing. He explained that current security arrangements provided by law enforcement agencies are often temporary and not continuous. “The security support from law enforcement remains limited to specific times,” he stated. Regarding the proposed Wapda Security Force, the chairman clarified that this force would operate exclusively within the scope of Wapda’s projects. He further noted that the new Wapda Security Force personnel would be recruited from all provinces to ensure broader coverage.
