The new Steel Valley Elementary School has amenities that can better support students’ and teachers’ needs, more so than its decades-old predecessors, district officials say. Steel Valley, which serves students in Munhall, Homestead and West Homestead, will open the preK-5 facility Aug. 31, for the first day of school. “We start them in elementary school, teaching them how to work with people, teaching them how to work through problems. With the new school, Steel Valley will offer transportation for elementary students for the first time. “This is an exciting time for Munhall, Homestead, West Homestead, the whole Steel Valley region,” Falce said.
