I hear folks all the time say they wish we had more variety of genres represented with live music events in town. Groovin' on the Green is a free concert celebrating blues, funk, jazz, and R&B, but most importantly the organizers are hoping this event will bring the community together for a good ole time! Gerry Smoot coming through with the smooth jazz, Mel B sings sweet southern soul & blues, and I know you remember Jon B! My friend Rafe Buckner told me that The Northwest Neighborhood Alliance created Groovin' on the Green to add a different flavor to the live music scene here in Owensboro and do something special for the community. So, grab your lawn chairs, tell your friends, and get your boogie shoes ready for Groovin' on the Green!
