A cabinet shake-up has produced a new Victorian government portfolio of Minister for Artificial Intelligence.
The role – appointed to former police minister Anthony Carbines – will keep “AI development ethical and responsible”, said Premier Ben Carroll in a statement.
As AI minister, Carbines will also focus “on driving innovation and investment”.
“I have reduced the ministry,” Carroll said.
Carroll said his inaugural cabinet will stay focused on what matters most – “cost of living, keeping Victorians safe and delivering great healthcare and education.”
