The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has introduced new cargo declaration requirements for exporters shipping goods to Kenya, making it mandatory to obtain an Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) reference code before cargo is dispatched. Under the new system, exporters must submit an Advance Cargo Declaration through KRA's online platform before cargo is loaded for shipment. The latest requirement follows the rollout of the Advance Cargo Declaration platform, which enables exporters to submit cargo details electronically before goods are shipped to Kenya. According to KRA, the platform is designed to improve cargo visibility and enhance the management of shipments entering the country by allowing authorities to receive cargo information in advance. Exporters can complete the declaration through KRA's Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) online platform before shipping their goods to Kenya.
