The tourism stakeholders say that the expansion of the Mara through community conservancies will help reduce human-wildlife conflict by transforming fragmented private parcels into managed buffer zones that protect wildlife habitats and improve coexistence. Separately, activists led by community organizers in Maasai Mara petitioned the Environment and Land Court to halt operations at Ritz-Carlton's Maasai Mara camp, citing disruption to wildlife migration.
