They found out that a majority of the police departments only take college graduates and the Oklahoma City police department accepted a GED. He first began his career as a patrol officer for a few years but was then asked to join the narcotics unit because of his youthful appearance. As a patrol officer he worked in car accidents, cats stuck in a tree and 911 calls for shootouts, tornadoes and the Oklahoma City Bombing.
