TIFFCOM, the industry portion of the Tokyo International Film Festival, will return this fall with an expanded program focused on Japanese IP, anime, artificial intelligence, and international co-production. Among this year’s major initiatives is an expanded Tokyo IP Market: Adaptation & Remake. The expansion follows TIFFCOM’s partnership with Cannes’ Marché du Film on the inaugural Japan IP Market back in May. TIFFCOM will also hold the seventh edition of its Tokyo Gap-Financing Market, which is expected to select around 20 projects seeking international partners. This year, the initiative is collaborating with Frontières, the genre-focused project market operated by Canada’s Fantasia International Film Festival.
