China’s Commerce Ministry said the steps were in response to recent moves from the U.S., including a ban on Chinese drone imports and the addition of 43 Chinese companies to a blacklist aimed at curbing forced labor in China’s Xinjiang province. The Commerce Ministry said it was “acting with restraint” and urged Washington to roll back the previously imposed measures. It also warned that Beijing could take further action if the U.S. continues imposing additional restrictions. Today’s sanctions are just the latest salvo in a longer-running standoff.
