Philadelphia councilmembers host hearing on police response to Pride festivitiesPHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia City Council held a tense hearing Wednesday focused on the police response to Pride festivities earlier this summer. The hearing centered on the transition from the official Pride parade on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the informal celebrations that followed in the Gayborhood. Once crowds dispersed from the Parkway, officers and attendees collided, resulting in more than a dozen arrests.
