The Toronto Blue Jays had a productive trade deadline on Monday (Aug. 3). Even one of the major long-term trade chips the Blue Jays used, top shortstop prospect Arjun Nimmala, went out the door. Liam Hicks was one of the hottest-hitting catchers available, but the Blue Jays already have Kirk and Brandon Valenzuela. One signing or trade to go along with these outcomes could completely change the Blue Jays offensive profile a year from now. But if the deadline didn't ease Blue Jays' fans frustrations over an anemic offense getting immediately better, that is a fully warranted feeling.
