Jammu Tawi, Aug 05 : The autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is likely to be convened from September 21, sources disclosed.
“The session is likely to commence from September 21,” they disclosed, adding that the LG will now formally summon the House.
As per the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, the interval between J&K Assembly’s last sitting in one session and the date appointed for its first sitting in the next session cannot exceed six months.
Since the last sitting of the House was held on April 4, 2026, the Assembly had to be convened by or before October 3, 2026.
The J&K Assembly was adjourned sine die on April 4, 2026, after completing a 22-sitting budget session that began on February 2 and resumed on March 27 following a recess.
