Although the collision itself was eclipsed by life down on Earth, a telescope in Chile spotted what astronomers have described as a plume of debris from the assumed crash, according to NBC News. “The gravity on the moon is low,” Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Benjamin Fernando told the AP, “and there is no wind to blow the dust away.”
