5 men charged in Bay Area internet child predator sting, SF Sheriff's Office saysSAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Five Bay Area men are facing felony charges following a three-day undercover operation targeting people suspected of attempting to meet children online for sexual activity, authorities announced Wednesday.
The operation was conducted by the San Francisco Sheriff's Office, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, several Bay Area law enforcement agencies and officers from Florida.
Investigators said undercover officers posed as children or as adults with young children on social media platforms.
