Srinagar, Aug 5: BJP spokespersons from Kashmir on Wednesday said the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A had strengthened Jammu and Kashmir's integration with the rest of the country and accelerated development across the Union Territory. The remarks were made during a virtual meeting of BJP spokespersons and members of the party's media department from Kashmir, chaired by J&K BJP Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi, to mark the anniversary of the constitutional changes of August 5, 2019. According to the BJP, the participants described the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A as a landmark decision that fulfilled the party's long-standing commitment to "One Nation, One Constitution" and ensured the complete constitutional integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. They also claimed that the constitutional changes had expanded opportunities for youth, women and marginalised communities while creating a better investment climate in the Union Territory. The meeting concluded with the participants expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP leadership, while reaffirming the party's commitment to the development and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
