Curbing social evils, therefore, is not a matter of choice but of survival. The first step in curbing social evils is acknowledging that no community is immune. If a society wants to reform itself, it must be willing to apply the same standard of justice to all, regardless of status, caste, gender or power. Social reform, in that sense, begins at home.
