LG unveils civilian honours on Ladakh UT Day

Leh, Aug 5: Marking seven years since Ladakh attained Union Territory status, the Union Territory on Wednesday celebrated "dPal rNgam Duston 2026" with grandeur at the historic Leh Palace, where Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena unveiled major civilian honours and highlighted the region's remarkable transformation since August 5, 2019.
The celebrations, marked by vibrant cultural performances and participation of people from across Ladakh, commemorated what the administration described as a historic milestone that has reshaped the region's governance and development landscape.
He said the transformation has opened new opportunities while ensuring that Ladakh's unique cultural and ecological identity remains protected.
Calling upon the people to contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the administration's commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and self-reliant Ladakh through sustainable and people-centric development.
Earlier, extending greetings on the occasion of UT Ladakh Declaration Day, Saxena thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for fulfilling the long-pending aspirations of the people of Ladakh.
