Once operational, the scheme will provide a dependable drinking water supply to residents of Dudipora, Bakiakher, Baderher, Budkot, Machipora, Khirman, Nabedzab, Nagranar, Baderkali, Bahadarpora, Goriakher, Wadipora and Lachipora. An official of the PHE Division Handwara said the project has reached the final testing phase and will soon be made operational, significantly improving drinking water availability across the Rajwar area. Locals recalled that the absence of a reliable drinking water supply had forced many families to travel long distances to fetch water. Another resident, Shamim Ahmad, appreciated the progress and appealed to the authorities to expedite other pending drinking water schemes in the area. The commissioning of the Lower Rajwar Water Supply Project is expected to end years of water scarcity and ensure safe, dependable drinking water for thousands of residents in the area.
