The 2002 movie that paid Paul Newman $500,000 for two days’ work: “He handed it straight to charity”One of the perks that comes with being a living legend is that they’ll often be paid the most amount of money for the least amount of work, not that Paul Newman was interested in keeping it for himself.
As much as Newman loathed being compared to the mercurial method man, he wouldn’t dream of doing such a thing.
As a key supporting player, he was obviously on the set for a lot longer than two days.
“Sure enough, we did two extra days with Paul, so he was owed half a million dollars,” Mendes revealed.
“Eventually, they paid him,” Mendes explained.
