A 12-year-old boy in Thrissur tests positive for H1N1, prompting health authorities to order the shutdown of an illegal pig farm housing 2,000 animals. Thrissur: An H1N1 case has been confirmed in a 12-year-old boy at Vellikulangara in the 10th ward of Mattathur Panchayat of Thrissur district. Following the diagnosis, the local panchayat administration and the Health Department issued strict directives to immediately shut down an illegal pig farm operating in the vicinity. On Tuesday, a joint team of panchayat officials and health officers inspected the farm located in the Kattippokkam Pattarakkund area. Furthermore, untreated wastewater from the farm was being discharged directly into the Vellikulangara Valiyathodu stream, creating major public health and environmental hazards.
