WORTHINGTON — The City of Worthington and Nobles County created a partnership to develop an Active Transportation Plan , which the Worthington City Council approved at its July 13 meeting, and Nobles County commissioners adopted on Tuesday.
The Active Transportation Plan builds from previous work such as the 2015 Worthington Active Living Plan and local Safe Routes to School projects.
ADVERTISEMENTAccording to Nobles County Engineer Aaron Holmbeck, there was public involvement to gather ideas and input on priorities and to learn what community members valued most.
Taylor Schumacher, Nobles County public health educator, also worked with county and city staff on the plan.
“It was really cool to just hear what people are wanting to see for active transportation in Worthington and Nobles County,” she said.
