Peter Badger, who passed away on July 25 at the age of 88, had attended Hereford Market for more than 60 years and only retired at 85. Meanwhile, in the latest livestock sale at Talgarth Market on July 31, trade for well-fed and heavier lambs was described as better than expected. Phil Jones, auctioneer, said: "It wasn’t all doom and gloom this week at Talgarth, with averages up on the previous day. He said most continental cross lambs sold well, trading between 325p and 340p per kilo, while lighter lambs reached up to 321p per kilo, depending on condition. Strong Texel ewes sold for as much as £222 per head, with two pens making over £200.
