Memorial for Wirral’s ‘most‑photographed dog’ to take place this weekend

Cain, an Australian cattle dog whose daily walks brought joy to thousands across the Wirral, was sadly put to sleep on January 8 following a battle with lymphoma.
He was a familiar sight during walks around Wallasey, New Brighton, and especially Vale Park, where many locals came to recognise him through his owner, Tracey Rennie’s, ‘Good morning’ social media posts.
She will be unveiling the bench and presenting a cheque with the remaining funds to a representative of Friends of Birkenhead Kennels, Lisa.
“We hope this donation will help other dogs find the love and happiness that Cain brought to so many,” added Tracey.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who donated, shared, supported, and helped make Cain’s memorial bench possible,” said Tracey.
