Jakarta Poor Population Drops to 432,000 in March 2026

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the number of poor people in Jakarta reached 432,620 in March 2026, marking a decrease of 6,500 compared to the 439,120 recorded in September 2025.
Jakarta's poverty rate ranks as the third lowest nationwide, trailing only Bali, which recorded Indonesia's lowest poverty rate at 3.44 percent, and South Kalimantan at 3.63 percent.
Additionally, the poverty line threshold in Jakarta for March 2026 was pegged at Rp925,525 per capita per month.
With the average poor household in March 2026 comprising 4.89 members, the official poverty line per poor household in Jakarta reached Rp4,525,817 per month.
