ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Department of Human Services has launched an online tool for Medicaid recipients to check if new work reporting requirements apply to their situation.
ADVERTISEMENTBeginning Jan. 1, 2027, certain Medicaid recipients will be subject to the new work reporting requirement passed in the July 2025 federal law known as the "One Big Beautiful Bill."
The new requirement does not apply to all recipients of Medicaid, which in Minnesota is called Medical Assistance.
A full list of exemptions and qualifying activities for the upcoming rule change can be found on the human services department's website.
"While most Medicaid recipients already work or meet the requirements in other ways, we are encouraging people to prepare now for the challenges of more paperwork.
