KASSON, Minn. — Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School was recently recognized as a “champion of positive school culture and student behavior” by the Minnesota Department of Education.
ADVERTISEMENT“Our team has really dove into it and bought into it and has seen the positive effects from it with the kids,” Kasson-Mantorville Elementary Principal Eric Schofield said about PBIS.
Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School was the only school in the Rochester area to be included on the list of recognized schools.
At Kasson-Mantorville Elementary, Schofield said the school does well at recognizing and reinforcing student behavior.
He described a challenge last year when the school set out to award 3,000 positive behavior referrals for the school of roughly 700 students.
