Suffolk County Council, Babergh District Council, Sudbury Town Council and South Suffolk MP James Cartlidge have collaborated to develop a long-term masterplan for investment in the town centre.
The partners have agreed to explore possibilities for enhancements to Sudbury bus station on Hamilton Road, including relocation.
The partnership comes after Babergh District Council secured £250,000 in June to improve the station and better the experience for travellers.
Cllr Adrian Stohr, mayor of Sudbury, said: “We are excited that the masterplan will seek to deliver visible results to secure Sudbury’s future as a thriving market town.”
Once complete, the masterplan will provide a clear roadmap for future development in the town, while maintaining qualities that make Sudbury unique.
