The frontman for Evening Elephants comes often to the lowlands of Griffith Park, watching locals practice yoga and Taekwondo, while imagining new music for his alternative pop act. With the July 31 release of Wholeheartedly, Terribly Sweet, his Evening Elephants have graduated from backyard pop-up shows to festival stages, including a euphoric Lollapalooza set July 30. Boggs was watching the show again, and when that moment came up, he immediately texted his partners in the still-unnamed band: “Evening Elephants?” With the weekend set at Lollapalooza behind them, Evening Elephants begins a U.S. tour September 9 in Phoenix. The producer-drummer no longer performs live with Evening Elephants, though he appears with Boggs on the album cover.
