Public reporting of crime cases on rise in Nagaland, says DGP

(Morung Photo)Our CorrespondentKohima | August 5Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP) Rupin Sharma today described more crime cases being reported to the Nagaland Police by the public as a good sign in Nagaland.
Sharma felt that crime cases need to be brought up, not legally only, but more vociferously through dialogue, discussions at various forums.
Tosheli Zhimomi, Director, Social Welfare, Nagaland, said that during the last financial year 2025-2026, One Stop Centre (OSC) under Mission Shakti, Department of Social welfare catered to 311 cases.
The type of cases include; Domestic violence, Cybercrime, sexual assault, POCSO, Missing cases and other women in distress situation.
However given the nature of critical cases we are receiving related to violence against women & children, our coordination needs to be further strengthened,” Zhimomi insisted.
