(DIPR Photo)Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): The District Industries Centre (DIC), Dimapur, in association with the Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) organised a special awareness and sensitization programme for stone crusher units under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on August 5. He encouraged stone crusher operators to adopt environmentally responsible practices and comply with statutory environmental regulations to ensure sustainable development. Speaking on “Ambient Air Quality and its Impact,” Olivia Chophy, Senior Scientific Assistant, NPCB, highlighted the adverse effects of air pollution caused by dust emissions from stone crusher units. During the technical session on “Environmental Compliance of Stone Crusher Units,” Mvudzeyu Shuya, Scientist ‘B’, NPCB, elaborated on the environmental laws and regulatory requirements applicable to stone crusher units.
