Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): The Office of the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DEO), Dimapur, convened a meeting with members of village councils and town councils on August 5 in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. DC & DEO, Dimapur, Dr Tinojongshi Chang, NCS in his opening remarks appealed to all citizens to extend full cooperation to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the ongoing SIR of the Photo Electoral Rolls, 2026 to ensure an accurate, complete and updated electoral roll. The DEO further called upon all Administrative Officers, Village Councils, Village Development Boards (VDBs), Gaon Buras (GBs), Colony Councils, Ward Authorities and other stakeholders to assist the BLOs, widely publicise the programme and encourage residents to remain available during the house-to-house verification process. Addressing the gathering, Assistant Election Officer, Dimapur, Toshimongba Longchar, outlined the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision. Hearings and disposal of claims and objections will continue until November 18, 2026, while the final electoral roll will be published on November 22, 2026.
