Our CorrespondentKohima | August 5Heavy rainfall has triggered fresh landslides along Phesama sinking area of National Highway-2 on Wednesday, disrupting traffic movement along Kohima-Mao section. All LMVs have been diverted towards Phesama-Kisama/Kigwema via Rhododendron Resort for both way traffic, according to DSP (Traffic) Kohima, Solevi Metha. He said that temporary protective measures have been implemented at nearby vulnerable locations, but falling boulders and fresh slides continue to pose challenges. Permanent solutions for all sinking and sliding zones will be included in the DPR," he said. A driver of a bus stranded at the sinking area this morning thanked the benevolent gesture of Phesama village for arranging food to the passengers.
