Enniskillen workers begin strike over pay and break arrangements

Day shift workers at the site currently do not receive paid breaks in line with colleagues on other grades and shifts.
Speaking at the picket line, Unite regional coordinating officer George Brash said local staff were striking “for fair pay and for inequality of paid breaks”.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham has previously said workers at Pilgrim’s in Enniskillen have the union’s “full support” as they strike for “pay justice”.
Pilgrim’s Europe, which acquired the Enniskillen site from Kerry Group in 2021 and employs around 300 people there, says it has already put forward a deal.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Pilgrim’s Europe said: “We have made a pay offer above inflation and remain committed to constructive discussions with the Union.
