Police in a southern Maine town issued a warning Tuesday after several shark were spotted in waters off a local beach. Scarborough police initially said there was a confirmed sighting of two sharks in local waters off Pine Point Beach. WATCH HERE WATCH HEREThe sharks appeared to be two juvenile great white sharks, between 6-8 feet in length, police said. Based on the video, the expert said the animals "appeared consistent with juvenile great white sharks." Scarborough police are now encouraging beachgoers, swimmers, surfers, paddlers and boaters to remain vigilant in local waters.
