“Dude, the World Trade Center just blew up,” were the first words I heard a few seconds after the first airplane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center Sept. 11, 2001.
It was the most confusing day I’ve ever lived through and it was the first and only day in my life, now almost 52 years in total, I thought I’d be dead before the sun went down.
Over the last 25 years, I have written a plethora of columns about that day.
But for 100 or so people, that was how Sept. 11, 2001, ended.
May all those who died on Sept. 11, 2001, continue to rest in peace.
