I don’t agree with a Black History Month stand because history is history, you shouldn’t [limit] black history to just one month – that’s wrong. “So many people have done so much good across the world in history and we confine black history to just one month. Cllr Finch confirmed he had spoken to county council library staff in Warwick and Bedworth about their views on displays. Put to him that does not happen in every family, Cllr Finch replied: “That is why safeguards are there. In the public sector, the taxpayer pays your wages so I don’t think it is appropriate for them to be doing things like that.”
