Alexander County Commissioners approved a $50,000 grant agreement with the North Carolina Railroad Company at their August 3, 2026, meeting, according to a county press release. The grant funding will be used to evaluate property in the Alexander Industrial Park for potential future expansion. He said the purpose of the reappraisal is to ensure property values are fair, equitable, and reflective of current market conditions. The Alexander County Planning Board recommended approval of the request. The next regular meeting of the Alexander County Board of Commissioners is scheduled for Monday, September 14, at 6:00 p.m. at the CVCC Alexander Center for Education (Room 103).
