Diamond Necklace travels to victory in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes. James Willoughby made Bow Echo his Horse of the Week after his Group 1 Sussex Stakes performance last Wednesday. Races across the week at Goodwood dominated his weekly awards, however. On Tuesday, Scandinavia added the Group 1 Goodwood Cup to his St Leger and Royal Ascot success and, on Thursday, Diamond Necklace dismissed older fillies and mares in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes. The field was small, but the older mares supplied a meaningful examination and Diamond Necklace settled it through acceleration rather than weight concession alone.
