Met Office yellow thunderstorm warning is in place for northern parts of the country, as up to 40mm of rain expectedSince this morning, a large area of low pressure has been sitting over Scotland, bringing unsettled weather to northern parts of the country, particularly Western Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Low pressure staying near the North todayThe yellow warning will be in place until 21:00 as the thunderstorms will clear away in towards the East, as it stays cloudy over most northern parts of the country.
Some of these showers will expand into parts of Southern Scotland and Northern England, particularly over the western side, perhaps even northern Wales.
Unseasonably blustery winds will develop across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and northern England in the overnight period.
