While it's nice to enjoy some sunshine, the reality is that these long periods of hot, dry weather are becoming more common, and they bring real challenges for communities like ours. Across North Wales we've seen drought conditions, pressure on farmers and a worrying number of wildfires. Over the weekend I joined local volunteers for a litter pick on Halkyn Mountain, close to where the fire took place. During dry weather it can become a real hazard. I see that every week, and I saw it again on Halkyn Mountain.
