Callum Goult, 30, of Maelor Place in Ruabon, was sentenced to eight weeks in prison after appearing at Wrexham Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday August 4).
He admitted to eight counts of theft from a shop.
The offences took place at four different shops in the Ruabon area between July 31 and August 3.
Sergeant Gwen Jones said: “Shoplifting and retail theft is regarded as a victimless crime but is detrimental to local businesses.
“We will continue to work with partners and residents protect those working in the retail sector."
